How to volunteer

Sneyd Academy is committed to continually strengthening our relationships with our parents/carers and local community.

The help we receive from parents/carers is invaluable and is much appreciated by staff. Parents interested in helping within school, and who have the necessary free time, should speak to any member of the teaching staff.

Parents can help in many different ways, including:

  • Sharing skills and interests e.g. talking about their job, helping with computer activities
  • Listening to children read
  • Accompanying children on educational visits
  • Making costumes for productions
  • Supporting themed weeks in school.

All volunteers in school are all checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB check) in line with child protection guidelines and must complete the volunteering application form which can be found below.
