Sneyd Academy is committed to providing an engaging curriculum with a variety of opportunities for children to gain skills, knowledge and understanding both across the curriculum and to prepare them for secondary education and beyond. We believe that the teaching of basic skills is essential to ensuring that children can be successful in every sphere of their life. We ensure that these basic skills include:
- A sound knowledge of phonics. We use Phonics play and phonics bug in our teaching of phonics
- Strong skills in reading and writing. The children enjoy books mainly from the Pearson Bug Club reading scheme.
- A firm grasp of number bonds
- Fast recall of multiplication facts
