We're excited to remind all our pupils and families about a fantastic competition we're running as part of SEND Inclusion Week 2025, in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent City Council!
We’re inviting children and young people across the city (including our school!) to submit a photo of a place they feel is inclusive in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a brilliant chance to celebrate what makes our community welcoming!
Your pupils can enter by sending a photo of:
⭐A real location they've visited.
⭐A photograph of a drawing, model, or other creative piece they've made to represent an inclusive space.
How to Enter & Key Forms
Please find the necessary documents attached to this post:
⭐A poster with all the competition details and submission instructions.
⭐A consent form that must accompany every entry.
Parents/Carers: You can easily send in a photograph of the completed consent form with your child's entry!

🚨 Important Safeguarding Notice: Children’s "Spy" Books 📚
Dear Parent/Carer,
We are sharing an important safeguarding notice regarding certain popular children's books by Andrew Cope, specifically the Spy Dogs, Spy Cats, and Spy Pups series.
We have been made aware that some older editions of these books contain a printed web address at the back. This domain is no longer controlled by the author and has unfortunately been taken over by another party. This outdated link now leads to inappropriate adult content.
The publisher, Puffin, has taken swift action: they have paused the sales and distribution of these books and are actively working with schools and retailers to remove them from circulation. They emphasise that the current website has absolutely no connection to the author or the publisher.
What You Need to Do:
📌Check Your Books: If your child has any Spy Dog, Spy Cat, or Spy Pups books at home, please check the back pages for any printed website links.
📌Ensure Safety: Please make sure your child does not attempt to visit the site mentioned in the book.
📌The Stories Are Safe: It is perfectly safe for children to continue reading and enjoying the stories themselves—the only concern is the outdated web link.
📌Have a Conversation: We recommend talking with your child about the importance of always checking with an adult before visiting any web addresses they find printed in books or anywhere else.

Children may encounter inappropriate content, unsolicited messages, or strangers in public servers.
